Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band
After touring Europe this June and July, former Beatle Ringo Starr lined up dates throughout North America for a fall tour. His 2018 All Starr Band includes Men at Work’s Colin Hay, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Santana’s Gregg Rolie and 10cc’s Graham Gouldman. Percussionist and saxophonist Warren Ham and drummer Gregg Bissonette complete the band. Each band member will play his most popular songs, and Starr will play some of his solo tunes. Café Tacvba/The Marias
When the members of Café Tacvba first met nearly 30 years ago in the Mexico City suburb of Satélite, the guys were art and design students at the local university. They quickly discovered that they shared a common interest not only in Mexican regional music but also in rock groups like Rush, the Cure and the Smiths. The band’s 1992 self-titled debut fit in with the ska and punk-inflected alternative rock that was popular at the time. Tours throughout the decades would bring the group to town to play clubs like the now-shuttered Peabody’s even though the band regularly filled arenas in its native Mexico. Tonight, the group comes to town in support of last year’s Jei Beibi, a terrific album that veers from the manic music of its early days to the more esoteric approach it takes today. Father John Misty/King Tuff
Justin Tillman (aka Father John Misty) wants people to put down their damn cellphones and live in the moment already — especially at his concerts, where he's been known to call people out for constantly filming and photographing. Much of what the singer-songwriter does (on stage or otherwise) comes off as sarcastic, but with the cellphone thing he has strong convictions. Since 2012, the former Fleet Foxes drummer has moved listeners in often uncomfortable and poetically beautiful prose to fully examine their lives. His sparse new record, God's Favorite Customer, which he wrote over a month's time while hiding out at a hotel, continues his progression as an artist unafraid to make people think. The Speedbumps - 10th Anniversary Concert
A local indie folk band, the Speedbumps first came together in 2007. Singer-guitarist Erik Urycki had dropped out of Kent after freshman year and spent a summer writing songs and playing guitar. That's when he decided to put the group together. Shortly after forming, the band would perform with artists such as Andrew Bird, G. Love and OKGO. This fall marks the 10th anniversary of the band’s first release. The group’s performance tonight at the Kent Stage will serve as a 10-year anniversary party. It’ll also mark the group's first gig in Kent in two years, and some former members will sit in with the band. (Niesel), 8 p.m., $17 ADV, $20 DOS. The Kent Stage.

MC 50 Presents Kick Out the Jams
MC50 — members of Soundgarden, Fugazi, Faith No More and Zen Guerrilla — will resurrect Wayne Kramer’s hard rock outfit MC5 for tonight’s 50th anniversary concert. MC50 will perform Kick Out the Jams in its entirety and include a revolving selection of standouts from the three albums the band released. (Niesel) 8 p.m., $35 ADV, $40 DOS. House of Blues.
