A friendly competition between the Bemidji State and Ohio State women's hockey teams turned hostile on Friday night when a massive brawl broke out after the Buckeyes were defeated 2-3.
19 OSU players were disqualified for participating in the fight and a combined 287 penalty minutes were issued, making Friday night's fight the largest in NCAA history.

OSU head coach Nate Handrahan addressed the brawl during a press conference after the game. While he didn't specify exactly what caused the fight, he said it had something to do with the way the Bemidji State players were yippin', hootin', and hollarin' after their win.
...In other words: Bemidji State started it and we'd fight 'em again. Hooray OSU, hooray hockey!
