Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Dublin, Ireland; Brooklyn, NY; Seville, Spain; Portland, Oregon; Aspen, Colorado; Austin, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana.

And Ohio City?

Sure, why not.

USA Today’s travel section laid out a list of ten great places to bar hop in the world, and they rightfully recognized that Cleveland, OH, deserved to be on the list with the aforementioned meccas of socializing and libations. And not for the Warehouse District, where striped shirts, Red Bull, and crowded, sub-par clubs rule. But glorious Ohio City, where you can booze away a night pacing from Bier Market to Great Lakes to ABC to the Old Angle and more.

Their take after the jump.

  1. For us serious drinkers, Ohio City is in the bottom ten. The best bar hopping is done between friends homes. Can’t beat the price, the private atmosphere, more comfortable seating, cleaner bathrooms, and last but not least, no closing hours!!!

  2. We still keep the best bars secret though. Right down the street is the Duck Island and the Velvet tango room.
