The last Jillian’s Billiard Club in Ohio closed on February 20 of this year when the 20-year-old Cleveland Heights location shut down for good. Tomorrow, July 22, the building will reopen as Myxx (12459 Cedar Rd., 216-321-6999). Building owner Kim Lisboa has converted the 10,000-square-foot space into what she describes as a “New York-style tapas bar.”
Major modifications were made to the space, says management. Following the removal and sale of every last billiard table, the raised bar area was demolished, creating a large, open, single-level room. Seating for approximately 150 guests will be offered at conventional tables and chairs, in a large lounge area, and at the bar. Weekends will include live entertainment.
Taking control of the kitchen is Tim Stadnik, formerly chef de cuisine at Giovanni’s. Most recently, he cooked at Cadillac Ranch and Oggi Ristorante in Broadview Heights.
“I liked the space, the concept and the opportunity to create my own menu,” Stadnik said.
The menu features twice as many small plate items as it does entrees, he explains. Items include familiar American and Italian-style dishes like wedge and Caesar salads, shrimp cocktail, bacon-wrapped scallops, baby lamb chops, pork chop Milanese, Boursin-stuffed chicken, and a filet with brandy cream sauce. Prices run $9 to $15 for small plates and $23 to $30 for entrees.
“Cleveland Heights doesn’t have many tapas-type places where people can drink wine and eat small plates,” the chef adds.
Opening night festivities begin at 4 p.m. Myxx will be open seven days from 4 p.m. to close.

Very pricy, especially for Cleveland Heights and for this economy. Hope it’s good. At those prices, I’ll stick with L’Albatros or Anatolia. Also, why does everyone have to puff up their establishment by referring to “New York style” or “South Beach style” or “European style”? Can’t we have our own style?
Myxx is terrific! The food was wonderful….very reasonably priced….In fact, I’m already planning a night out at Myxx with friends and family on Friday, August 5th!!
i was also there and a disagree with the poster above. prices are not that reasonable..as a matter of fact its the same prices as nightown. food was good, ambience somewhat lost….too much space..and the table and seats not comfortable…acoustic is horrable..couldnt hear the person right next to me….
come to think of it…the poster above went to the opening weekend..where everything was at a discount….i drive up and down fairmount everyday….for the last two weekends..its been dead in there…..hopefully its not an inclination of whats to come….good luck..i will be at nighttown or fairmount across the street
