Last week, chef Nolan Konkoski signed a lease to take over the former Lelolai Bakery space on W. 25th, which recently closed after exactly 10 years. By late summer, he and his partner Molly Smith will open SoHo Kitchen and Bar, the “SoHo” being short for Southern Hospitality.

“Southern is a cuisine we always liked, and when we asked ourselves what the neighborhood needed, it immediately jumped out,” explains Konkoski.

For 25 years, Douglas Trattner has worked as a full-time freelance writer, editor and author. His work as co-author on Michael Symon's cookbooks have earned him four New York Times Best-Selling Author honors, while his longstanding role as Scene dining editor has garnered awards of its own.
