Weber and his son.

  • Weber and his son.

Last year, Scene shared the controversial story of Wayne Weber, a troubled Chagrin Falls father caught up in an ugly custody battle that had kept him from his nine-year-old son for two years [“Ripped at the Seams,” September 8, 2010]. Weber, 49, was killed March 18 in a shooting on Cleveland’s East Side.

Over the past couple weeks, Scene’s tried to piece together as much information as possible, but unfortunately, there’s not a lot out there at this point.

  1. 2 white guys in a Range Rover on E.127 & Rexford…….Hmmmmmmmm that is a robbery or Homicide waiting to happen

  2. obviously a drug deal… but who really knows…
but that poor son of his! terrible mother and now no father….
i feel for the poor child, i hope he grows up with a somewhat normal life after this…

  3. Regardless of why they were there, nobody deserves to be shot. Sadly, the real story will never be known. One died on the scene and the other fell into a coma before being interrogated and may not make it. The person who lost the most was the 9 year old son of Weber. This little boy will never know how loving and caring his father was, or how hard he fought to gain rights to see him. It is truly tragic. Wayne was a beautiful person, may he rest in peace and may his son somehow know that his father tried to do everything within his power to be with him.

  4. really? dislike that he lives on? haha..deal with it because he does. his case will never die as long as i am alive. He loved his son. if you do not like me..who do YOU work for?

  5. Wayne was my cousin.
Sure, he made some poor choices, but he was the closest thing I had to a big brother.
