Mr. Trattner, it seems to me we lack Mr. Fieri's side of the story. Or for that matter ANY corroborating narrative. Is that your idea of a fair and balanced story? The horribly sad thing is, I'll bet your proud of this one sided reporting. Fascism, alive and well at Scene magazine!
Citing the Postal clause and the reorganization act are non sequiturs. Just as DUI law (submitting to a breathalyzer) supersedes the fifth amendment, no one is outside local traffic law. If one were to follow Ms. Breslins logic, the FBI, which is under the purvey of the Justice Department, would also not be subject to local traffic law. Ms Breslin needs to cite case law, which she has emphatically refused to do. Additionally if we follow Ms. Breslin's logic, a postal employee would NEVER be held accountable for local traffic law. Be that DUI, vehicular manslaughter, or reckless driving. The very idea is specious at best. Ms. Breslin, your contempt for local authority is both, appalling and astonishing.
".....gun violence is maintaining a strong hold on the nation". Mr. Sandy, excuse me but are you mentally handicapped or just infatuated with hyperbole? FBI crime statistics clearly show that the murder rate in this country is half of what it was in 1980 when there were 100million less people. And Most gun violence is what Mr. Sandy? Answer, suicide. Hard to blame a weapon that holds a ten round clip on suicide. BTW, how many deaths are attributed to cars every year? Should we make the speed limit everywhere, 5 mph? How many deaths were attributed to people falling off ladders? Should we out law ladders? The authors of Freakanomics, report that more deaths occur in the backyard pool than by gun violence. Maybe we should outlaw backyard pools. You're an alarmist Mr. Sandy. Leftist, what they good for, absolutely nothing! Say it again, huh!
@Cheryl Starkey Jaeger.....aside from the fact that you're completely wrong on every element and fact you cite, your whole response is a non sequtur. It's also obvious you went to the same public school that bred Kenny's stupidity. Focus Cheryl, and try again.
I say it"s just desserts. The Palin Dealer has long supported the Democratic party locally and Federally, and the swill offered by pop culture the last 50 years. Cleveland and the Palin Dealer have not groomed or cultivated a generation of thinkers and visionaries who inspire those with the fiscal and monetary means to invest in NEO. Instead they've invested in a "what's in it for me" political party and their supporters. Since the days when Cleveland ran John Rockefeller out of town, we've been circling the toilet bowel. Good riddance to bad rubbish. With any luck, the New York Times won't be far behind your epic failure.
@Kenny Jaeger.... well, well, well, nothing like an over-inflated ego on display. Having demonstrated your vapidness of deep thought, ineloquent analogies and staggering ineptness at not providing even one example to anything you wrote, hopefully you will make an exit from this blog as well, sooner than later. Anyone, that even considered for a heartbeat, that the PD is a conservative rag, needs their wingnut tightened to their shoulders. I'd go on Kenny, but it would be a battle of wits with an unarmed man. Hopefully, you'll find something better to do than post here, like pissing up a rope.
@Mr. Swenson, Right. So basically it's a modern construct that allows you do whatever the heck you want, without any standards. Got it. Another indication that "change" is not synonymous with "improvement". A particular presidential term seems to demonstrate the concept, exceptionally well.
