Get Down Again With Murray Saul

Those of us who didn't drink all of our brain cells away at "Nickel Beer Night" in the '70s remember that back in the day, there was only one way to start the weekend off right. Each and every Friday afternoon at 6 p.m., we "got out of that sweat shop" and officially launched into the weekend with Murray Saul, who came crashing through the radio speakers via WMMS to let us know that we "Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Get Down, Dammit!" Murray, armed with the rock and roll triple threat of Bruce Springsteen, Ian Hunter, and San Francisco import Earth Quake, spent several blistering minutes each week railing against "the slave driver" and did his part to help Greater Cleveland flush the previous week's events, and direct their focus to the only subject that mattered: the weekend! Longtime Buzzard Mark "Munch" Bishop, newly transplanted to afternoons at ESPN 850-AM WKNR, will officially launch this weekend with a brand-new "Get Down" from the "Get Down Man" himself. Saul, now 79, will join Bishop at 5 p.m. today for the live "Get Down," which can be heard at 850 AM, and also live via the station's website. -- Matt Wardlaw
