Pink Floyd benefit Wish You Were Here Michael Stanley
It might be the club show of the year. It will definitely be a good time for a good cause. Pink Floyd tribute Wish You Were Here regularly sells out the biggest clubs in town, and they'll play Time Warner Cable Amphitheater at Tower City later this summer. But for one night only, they'll play a more intimate room and be joined by a handful of the city's other signature acts: Michael Stanley's Midlife Chryslers, Colin Dussault, a special reunion of '80s hard-rock/metal squad Hammered, BMZ, a set by Wish's Jim Tigue and Eroc Sosinski, and a special surprise solo set by a Cleveland rock icon. The big deal in the small club -- which will definitely sell out, so show up early -- will benefit Wish drummer Tim Hanculak (pictured, fourth from left), an uninsured part-time musician who's suffering from medical conditions that are preventing him from working. "I'm producing this benefit mainly as a way for the Cleveland musicians' community and [Hanculak]'s friends to get involved," says Sosinksi. "He has lots of friends from over 20 years of playing the circuit. People can donate without going, or if they get shut out by the fire marshal, by visiting www.floydtribute.com. We take PayPal."
