You'll recall the music of Paul Zegarac (aka Paul Francis) from last year's viral "Cleveland: A Million Stories" video — the one that made us feel all warm and fuzzy about our city (embedded below for your convenience). In that video, Zegarac's soulful guitar melodies drift across gentle, percussive chords and, of course, video of beautiful Cleveland.

Last week, Zegarac learned that he is contending with a cancerous brain tumor. His family has set up a GoFundMe account to assist Zegarac with basic life costs whenever he is able to leave the Cleveland Clinic.

In one day, donors eclipsed the original goal of $400, which amounts to one month of bills for Zegarac. All additional donations will help fund future months' medical bills. As one friend told Scene: "Paul has never asked anyone for money in exchange for his music, and he's never said no to anybody. His style is unique in our industry and as such, we want to make sure he's taken care of."

You can check out more of his music on his Soundcloud page and you can learn more about his current plight on the GoFundMe page.
