For a decade, Ohio Sky, a local hard rock act featuring singer-guitarist Vinny DiFranco, bassist Michael Bashur, drummer Eric Bambic and keyboardist Patrick Finegan created an expansive world of sound that was equal parts Radiohead and Queens of the Stone Age.

Now, Bashur and DiFranco have taken their talents to Automatic Weapons, a new electro-rock band that just released its full-length debut, Young Lovers, Dystopian Future. It’s the first release from Bashur and DiFranco since their time together in Ohio Sky.

They recorded the album locally at Crintonic Garden Studios; they’ve also released a music video for the single “Antenna.” Cleveland native Don Tyler produced and directed the trippy video which features distorted images of the band.

Automatic Weapons will perform on Friday, Dec. 22, at the Beachland Ballroom.
