The body of a Denison University student who had gone missing over the weekend was recently discovered, school officials say. The student, 21-year old David Hallman III, froze to death after falling asleep outside.
Hallman was last seen leaving a downtown Granville, OH restaurant early Saturday and was found later the same night outside of a condo-complex garage about a half mile away.
"David was located Saturday night across the street from the Granville Golf Course, where it appears he had fallen asleep and then succumbed to hypothermia,” Laurel Kennedy, the vice president for Denison's student development wrote in a university memo.
A major in History, "David was a member of the men's swimming and diving team for his first three years and was very close to that group," Kennedy added.
Police say alcohol may have played a role in Hallman's death, though nothing has been confirmed.
Denison's student newspaper, The Den, reported that funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
