On February 6, Cleveland's finest reggae DJs will celebrate Bob Marley's birthday. You may recognize DJs Richloee, Black Scorpio, and Fire Youth from 91.1-FM WRUW, which also occasionally opens its airwaves to DJ Ray, a New Yorker whose family hails from Jamaica. Ray says, in a deep accent, they'll be spinning Marley favorites, deep cuts, and some other reggae, to create "a cultural vibe, like what came from Bob Marley. We're going to play some nice music and make it be mellow, and have a good time in a good way." Part of the proceeds go to Jamaica's Alpha Boys School, which takes kids off the streets and puts them into music-education programs.
